The Baton Rouge Orchid Society is a non-profit organization devoted to the expansion of knowledge, culture, propagation, use, and appreciation of orchids. To these purposes, the members gather several times a month at various locations to focus on various aspects of orchids

Monthly Meetings - meets at 7:00 PM on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at the Baton Rouge Garden Center in Independence Park (7950 Independence Park Blvd,) [map]. The meeting usually consists of a guest speaker, plant raffle, refreshments and socializing. Very often, plants are available at reasonable prices.

Orchids For Seniors - meets at 10:00 AM on the 4th Monday of the month in Independence Park (7500 Independence Blvd.) [map]. This gathering is part of the BREC Adult Leisure Program. BREC provides us with a meeting space, a van and driver for field trips to orchid greenhouses at no charge. Each group member is asked to contribute $10 per year to help with the expenses.

Green Growers - meets at 7:00 PM on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at local members homes. This meeting emphasizes the basics of orchid culture and is geared toward the novice grower. For more information
